Rex Vapor uses 3D printing to create beautiful and stylish electronic cigarettes

Although the current e-cigarette market can be said to be taking off, Meredith Agens, co-founder of Rex Vapor, is sensitive to an industry problem.

“Although e-cigarettes are easy to promote from the perspective of reducing health hazards, a frequent objection is that e-cigarettes look ugly, clumsy, or more like a medical device, which is not fashionable,” says Agens. I was obsessed with 3D printing, so I realized that I can combine e-cigarettes with 3D printing to eliminate this objection and help e-cigarettes become the only rational transmission channel for nicotine needs."

Agens' interest in e-cigarettes comes from her older brother, an old smoker, who had serious problems in the lungs three years ago. At that time, Agens appeared in the hospital with flowers and e-cigarettes. Fortunately, her brother accepted the advice of Agens. Since then, both of them have become advocates of the e-cigarette movement.

Agens decided to use her knowledge of 3D printing to bring a new electronic cigarette to the market that is not only functional but also beautiful.

“I have been modeling with Blender software because it was what I learned when I was doing animation in 2011. But if it works better, I will use other software. We have tried half a dozen 3D printers , currently I am using an EOS 3D printer. We plan to buy one of these 3D printers as soon as possible."

Currently Rex Vapor mainly prints three different e-cigarette models in 3D: Feng, Quartz and Victoria. The company says they can print four Quartz or Victoria e-cigarettes in an hour or three; or three Feng models of e-cigarettes. They use high stretch PA powder for 3D printing, which Agens says is 100% safe.

According to Agens, “We use glass and stainless steel on the contact parts of each e-cigarette. In addition, we have added a lock function, temperature monitoring function to the electronic processor’s unprocessor, and can be short-circuited. Automatically cuts off the circuit when the low voltage and polarity are reversed."
